Season´s greeting from protest park

Bhopal Gas Tragedy Protest 16th June, originally uploaded by d_jinn.

´From your lips to gods ears´. Grandmother made that statement every now and then. Although most of the things she invoked god for remained un-fulfilled. She was acquired and relocated like all aging entities by a heavenly management takeover.
If she was around, she would have made a superb protester. Rabid in her pursuit for her cause and ready to use coercion, reverse-psychology and her famous weapon, nagging. Governments would organize parleys to attempt to tame her. Para-military and armed forces would be called at mere mention of her presence at a protest meeting. She could have become the resident protester of Janter Manter

I wait for others to wither

ANTHONY P. SHIMER Monument, originally uploaded by road_less_trvled.

I am Sir Henry Champagne Loriba, atleast I was once. Right now I am a monument. But trust my word, I did nothing monumental in my life. I tell you this because I am dead and also because I had a century to think about what I did with my life.

I was the youngest son in the grand family of Loriba. Everyone was naturally fond of me. My smile could melt hearts. Needless to say, I used it quite often. Being born rich had its advantages too. Parents used to there money-wand to fix anything I broke in my youth. After uneventful middle age filled with alcohol and parties. I died a death of non-descript but rich man.

My wife wanted to be a little novel, so she commissioned my statue in granite instead of the usual marble ones.

While all my pals withered away in their marble form in a non-descript cemetery in this small town. I became famous in my death by my sheer ability to stand long enough.

Who knew I would even be sent to Louvre for a show? Sadly some mad critic told that my form for just a cheap copy of some famous sculptors work and not the real thing. Now I am standing, waiting again for others statues to wither all over again…

Better have some footage

Yuri Void Smith pulled many strings to get his team out there. With ‘back to nature’ being the theme, he needed back of beyond look and feel. What better place than Amazonian jungles! With hippie scene coming to an end. This was probably last breath of life to the culture which was cherished by YVS as he was known.

But it was not to be. The whole team just disappeared without trace. As if sucked away by the parallel universe. YVS personally went to Brazil to find his favorite model and photographer. But returned empty handed. His flare for designing cloth lines weathered away leaving the skeletal self. The house of YVS designs from being centre stage of paris haute coutre got disappeared into obscurity.

Wild Joe would have made good cowboy, but he became a journalist. Adventurer at heart, each opportunity to be out there fills him with sudden surge of energy. Working for powerful news syndicate, he has been quite successful. But instead of sitting on his laurels, he was hungry for more.

He was asked to board a plan to Brazil to cover bio-fuel story. How bio-fuel production could adversely Amazonian forest reserve? He jumped at the opportunity. By next evening, he was busy conceptualizing a pan shot from a chopper to show cutting down of trees. Morning was very different from what Wild Joe had conceptualized. 10 mins into flight they saw Orange and Black people.

BBC by the night was blurting out details of a ‘uncontacted indigenous tribes’. YVS who was watching the news with usual disinterest just stood up. ‘So finally they have been found’ came out the words from his mouth ‘They better have some footage’.
